By Frank L. Hahn

Pyrography is the process of producing a design or picture on wood, leather, cloth, etc. by burning or scorching the material with a hot instrument. More commonly known as burnt wood or Flemish Art, these pieces of art are nearly 100 years old and becoming quite collectible. This book features color pictures of dozens of examples of Flemish Art, as well as a reprint of a 1907 catalog of the Flemish Art Company and select pages from a Thayer ∓ Chandler catalog. A brief discussion of restoration techniques and a price guide are also included.
